Bogotá: City of Highland

City of contrasts: a serene tropical sun next to the mountains, hot, warm and cold at once. It is the administrative, economic and political center of the country and Colombia's most populous city.

Location: Highland Cundiboyacense.Population: 8'463.782Inhabitants: Bogotano/a Seismology: Bogotá sits on the South American tectonic plate and has seismic activity. It is located in what is called a seismic depression or semi-plateau. Sumapaz Region: Te city has a huge nature reserve, the Sumapaz region, which is one od the world'shighest moors standing at 3900 meters above the sea level.  Hydrography: Its most important river is the river Bogotá. Others: Tunjuelo river, in the south of the city; the river Fucha, Juan Amarillo river, which follow in to the Bogotá River. The tequendama waterfalls in to he Bogotá river. The Bogotá River flows into the Magdalena River in the municipality of Girardot in Cundinamarca.
Metropolitan Area: The communities od Soacha, Zipaquirá, Facatativá, Chía, Mosquera, madrid, Funza, Cajicá, Sibate, Tocancipá, La Calera, Sopó, Tabio, gachancipá and Bojacá all from the Metropolitan Area of Bogotá, which raises the number of inhabitants to 9'047.795.
